It was commissioned in daylight
An engineer sets the scenes at eleven in the morning with the blinds up, and they are wrong every evening thereafter. We come back at nine at night and again at midnight, which is when the boat is used.
Lighting and AV design Β· Milan and Antibes, commissioning on board
Guests do not want a scene selector with fourteen options. They want the saloon to be right when they walk in at nine, and the deck to be right at midnight, without anybody being shown how it works.
What we design
Nothing matches that search. to see everything.
How we work
An engineer sets the scenes at eleven in the morning with the blinds up, and they are wrong every evening thereafter. We come back at nine at night and again at midnight, which is when the boat is used.
Fourteen options means the crew pick one and the rest are never used. Four, chosen for the four times of day the room is actually occupied, is a better system and a cheaper one.
Instantly, from a physical control, without a tablet or a password. Automation that cannot be overridden is a fault report waiting to be written at the worst moment of a charter.
Owners ask for dimmers when the problem is a fitting they can see the source of. Shielding a light costs nothing and does more for an interior than any amount of control.
βThe original system had twenty-two scenes and the crew used two. They stripped it back to four, came aboard for two evenings and set them at the times we actually eat and sit outside. It is the first refit item guests have ever commented on.β
